How does the exam work?

Goethe exams are modular (it is often possible to take modules separately) and assess the four fundamental skills.

Does the Goethe exam take place at your location?
No, official exams take place at authorized Goethe-Institut centers. Oxford Institutes is an excellence preparation center: we train you to pass the exam and handle all booking and registration procedures at the nearest or most convenient authorized exam venue for you.
What level is required to work in Germany?
Generally at least B1 or B2 level is required, depending on the profession. For doctors and healthcare personnel, B2 or C1 level is often required.
How long is the certificate valid?
Goethe-Institut certificates from levels A1 to C2 have unlimited validity. However, many employers or universities require a certificate no older than two years.
How can I understand my starting level?
We offer a free and non-binding placement test at our locations. This allows us to assess your current skills and recommend the most suitable preparation path.
Can I retake the exam if I don't pass?
Yes, you can retake the exam as many times as you wish. For B1 and higher levels, it is often possible to retake only the individual modules not passed.
Do you provide teaching materials?
Absolutely yes. All teaching materials, including official exam simulations and audio resources, are provided during the preparation course.
