How does the exam work?

The DELE exam assesses four fundamental skills. To pass it, you need to achieve a minimum score in each group of tests.

DELE Frequently Asked Questions

Is the DELE exam held at your location?
Yes, we host official DELE exam sessions. You can register and take the written and oral tests directly at our facility, according to the official Instituto Cervantes calendar.
Is it mandatory to attend a course to take the exam?
It is not formally mandatory, but highly recommended. The exam has a specific structure that requires familiarity with the tests. Our preparation courses provide you with the strategies needed to pass it successfully.
Does the DELE certificate expire?
No, the DELE Diploma has indefinite validity. Once obtained, you will never have to renew it, unlike other certifications that expire after 2 or 5 years.
How long does it take to get the results?
Results are published by the Instituto Cervantes usually within 3 months from the exam date. You will receive a notification as soon as they are available.
What is the difference between DELE and SIELE?
DELE is a paper-based exam, divided by levels (you register for B2 and pass/fail), and is valid forever. SIELE is a multilevel digital test (gives you a score from 0 to 1000) and is valid for 5 years. For SIELE we offer preparation + registration/booking support at authorized centers (no on-site exams).
How can I register for the exam?
You can register directly at our secretariat. You will need a valid ID and payment of the exam fee. We will support you throughout the bureaucratic procedure.
