The ESB (English Speaking Board) Language Certification is an International Awarding Organization regulated by Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation). Ofqual is one of the official bodies in the United Kingdom with the authority to accredit and regulate qualifications and exams. Exams approved by Ofqual undergo a rigorous evaluation process before they can be accredited.

It is included in the list of Recognised Awarding Bodies by UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service). UCAS is the official organization that handles administrative functions for all students applying for full-time courses at colleges and universities in the United Kingdom. For non-native English speakers, colleges and universities require proof of English language proficiency through the successful completion of a recognized English language competency test.

They are accredited according to the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The new RQF has replaced the QCF and serves as the framework for English language qualifications in England and Northern Ireland.

English Speaking Board (International) Ltd. is listed on the British Council’s list of recognized English awarding bodies.
